This course explains the importance of the Lean Office, how to implement it, and why it produces substantial benefits. This course comprises all of the subjects outlined below and is a complete overview of Lean for Administration.

This course is ideal for those who are involved in administrative functions in businesses such as manufacturing, health care, non-profits, and government.

This course is eligible for Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) funding.

Instructor

Brian Furlong is a seasoned senior executive with 35+ years of experience in manufacturing, healthcare and finance. After working domestically and internationally for major companies such as Emerson, Westinghouse, Invensys, and National Westminster Bank, Brian has in-depth knowledge of manufacturing and administrative processes. He has directed projects to start up plants in England, Ireland, Thailand, and Mexico and has completed acquisitions in England, China, and India. He's a passionate advocate of Lean Enterprise and has successfully completed implementation in numerous facilities in the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.

Brian has been practicing, teaching and consulting on Lean Enterprise in manufacturing, healthcare and service industries for over 14 years. He is the co-author of the book The Elusive Lean Enterprise and is an adjunct faculty instructor at several universities. Brian has traveled extensively and has lived and worked in four countries.

Prerequisites/Audience

This course is ideal for those who are involved in administrative functions in businesses such as manufacturing, health care, non-profits, and government.

There are no prerequisites for this course. All of our courses are available to all students of all academic backgrounds. Requirements

All materials are in the course no additional materials are required. You will need an Internet connection of 28Kpbs or higher, and a Web browser. Flash, Excel and Adobe readers are required. There are links to free readers in the course. Flash files in this course cannot be viewed on an IPAD and some other Apple devices.
